Sony Xperia XZ2
It seems that this year the main smartphone manufacturers are betting on software. It was not more than three months since Android 9 Pie was officially launched on the market and there are several brands that are updating their phones to that version. Companies like Sony already announced in August the list of mobiles that would update to Android 9, and today one of its star terminals, the Sony Xperia XZ2, is already receiving the aforementioned update to the latest version of the system.
Besides the XZ2, its siblings are also getting the same version. Specifically the XZ2 Compact and the Premium.

If Sony phones stand out for something, it is because they are the fastest phones to update to the latest versions of Android. In fact, the Sony Xperia XZ3 was the first mobile launched with Android 9 Pie as standard. Now its predecessor, the XZ2, receives the same version through a new update released by Sony this morning.
This morning we have been able to read in The Android Soul that some Sony Xperia XZ2 in all its variants (XZ2 Compact and XZ2 Premium) are already receiving stable Android 9 Pie. Specifically, it is the software version 52.0.A.3.27 with Google's October security patch. Its weight is 1043 MB, and it can only be installed via OTA.
Regarding the characteristics of this new version, it has the same functions as pure Android in its latest version. Integration with gestures, redesign of the notification panel and improvement of battery management and Artificial Intelligence, among many other novelties. If you want to know all the news about this, we recommend that you take a look at our article published a few months ago about Android 9.
As for the arrival of this to Spain and Latin America, it is expected that the update will be launched in the next few hours or days in a staggered manner so as not to saturate Sony's servers. The best thing to do is go to the Software update section in Android Settings to check for new updates. Once detected, the best thing to do is download it via WiFi, in addition to making a backup of sensitive data.
