At the same time that it has begun to distribute a new update for the Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and M2, the Japanese company Sony has also used this week to certify two new operating system updates for two of its mid-range smartphones: the Sony Xperia T3 and Sony Xperia E3. In the case of the Sony Xperia E3 we are talking about a minor update, but the update of the Sony Xperia T3 has a good chance of bringing with it the Android 4.4.4 KitKat version of the Android operating system.
The update that Sony has been certified for Sony Xperia T3 responds to the numbering of 18.1.A.2.32 (for the version of D5102 of this smartphone), while versions with connectivity 4G LTE of Internet ultra-fast (D5103 and D5106) have seen a new update certified with the number 18.1.A.2.25.
The Sony Xperia T3 works today under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat version, and from the US website xperiablog they assure that we could be talking about a new update that could bring with it the Android 4.4.4 KitKat version (whose main novelty lies in some bug fixes). There is also the possibility that it is simply a minor update; In either case, we have no choice but to wait for its distribution to clear up any doubts.
In the case of the Sony Xperia E3, the update that has been certified responds to the numbering of 18.4.C.2.14 and is intended for the D2203, D2243, D2206 versions of this smartphone. Regarding this update, there seems to be no room for doubt, since everything indicates that we are talking about a new file that is only aimed at correcting some minor errors that users have been able to detect on their terminals.
The date on which these two updates will begin rolling out to users is unknown. The most common is that Sony does not take more than a couple of weeks to start distributing the updates that it certifies publicly, although it may also be the case that we are talking about updates intended only for a certain market.
As we usually remember in these cases, the procedure to download an update from a smartphone Xperia from Sony is as follows:
- We enter the Settings application.
- Click on the " About the device " section.
- Click on the option " Software updates ", select the " System " tab and check if there is a new version available for download.
- In the event that there is a new version, we will see an icon with an arrow pointing downwards; If we click on this icon, the download and installation of the update will start automatically.
