Rumors had already dropped us some clues, but the Japanese company Sony has just made it official: the Sony Xperia C3 and Sony Xperia T2 Ultra will also receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Although at first it was planned that only mobile phones in the Xperia Z range would be updated to Lollipop, Sony has decided to clear up all doubts by confirming that the Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra will receive an official Lollipop update in the coming months.. Although, yes, at the moment there is no official date.
On the other hand, Sony has also taken advantage of this same statement to announce from one of its Twitter accounts ( @SonyMobileNews ) that the global distribution of the Lollipop update of the Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Sony Xperia Z2 and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will start to come true from next week (April 6). This means that, in the coming weeks, owners of these devices will be able to download and install the Lollipop update (probably Android version 5.0.2 Lollipop) directly from their terminals, whatever their country of origin. Presumably, the first to receive the update will be the owners of one of these devices in their free version.
Much of the news that the owners of these devices will find the range Xperia from Sony to installing the update Lollipop already been allowed to see the videos that leaked a few weeks ago. Even so, if we had to summarize the news of the Sony Lollipop update, the list of changes would be such that:
- Updated interface. The interface (that is, the design of the menus and Sony applications) has been updated with the arrival of Lollipop, and users will find important changes spread over the different sections of the interface of their devices.
- New options related to notifications. Notifications can now be controlled directly from the lock screen and, in addition, they can be configured through a priority mode to choose the notifications that you want to receive at all times.
- New user profile options. Users can create different profiles on their terminals (in order to share the same device with several people) and, in addition, they can also activate a guest mode.
- More options related to the microSD card. Users with storage problems should know that with this update they will be able to move their applications directly to the external microSD memory card.
- Plus other changes related to security improvements and bug fixes, plus some minor updates.
