When we talk about Android mobiles based on the most recent and powerful version of the system "" assigned to the 4.0 edition and called Ice Cream Sandwich "" we tend to think of solvent devices with double or quadruple core, with huge screens and vast resolution. However, it seems that the Japanese Sony could break a spear in favor of mid - range smartphones equipped with this platform. Thus, at least, it is deduced from the filtration of some performance tests referring to a device called Sony ST21i, which could be known by the nickname of Tapioca "" that is, it could be marketed asSony Xperia Tapioca ””.
It has been through NenaMark Benchmark that we have learned about some of the features of the Sony ST21i Tapioca. On this website a test of how the device works in graphic terms has been made public. Despite having an 800 MHz processor "" it is not clear if it is a dual-core unit or if we are dealing with a single-core chip "", the Sony ST21i integrates a dedicated graphics unit, specifically, an Adreno 200 of Qualcomm. In addition, we would know that it has a screen whose size is unknown, although its resolution is not: we would talk about a480 x 320 pixel panel, which gives this Sony ST21i an entry-level device.
Beyond this point, few more indications would be available to us to be able to know what features the Sony ST21i Tapioca would integrate from this data. However, a few weeks ago TechBlog leaked a series of images and features of the Sony ST21i that are useful to narrow down the information related to this unpublished mobile. Thus, from that medium they maintained that the Sony ST21i had a 3.2-inch screen. The camera, on the other hand, develop a full resolution capture three megapixel, and would have a RAM of 512 MB, as reported from the aforementioned website.
In the images that were filtered through said medium, the Sony ST21i was seen as a device that inherited the concept seen in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, that is, a compact terminal, of small dimensions, and equipped with a technical profile that makes it very appealing for users who want to get started in touch technology using a solvent device but without concentrating an excessively powerful performance box.
What there is no data at the moment is regarding the launch, as well as the price that this Sony ST21i would reach in the market. However, being a device with the characteristics just detailed, there is no doubt that it will be a fairly inexpensive terminal. In any case, it is to be applauded that manufacturers are launching into the development of mid-range and entry-level devices equipped with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version, which at first seemed reserved for the most powerful top-of-the-line devices.
