Samsung's Galaxy S9 is being one of the most pampered mobiles by the South Korean company. In fact, today it is one of the smartphones that is receiving the most updates to date. So much so, that even Android Pie is just around the corner. We already saw some of its features in several leaked images of Android 9 Pie under Samsung Experience 10, and now a recent leak reveals that we can make use of Samsung DeX without having to connect the Samsung Galaxy S9 to the base with the same name.
Connecting the Samsung Galaxy S9 via USB type C will be possible very soon
Surely one of the most criticized aspects of the company's S9 after its departure was the need to resort to a base sold by Samsung to connect it to a monitor. Companies like Huawei with the Huawei P20 Pro already made this connection possible without having to resort to bases of any kind, only with a USB type C. Now it seems that Samsung's flagship will not require such a base in the next version of Android, which at the moment is in beta. So we can see it in a Swiss video by an anonymous YouTube user.
As can be seen in the aforementioned video, the Samsung Galaxy S9 + can be connected to the monitor in question without the need for the Samsung DeX base: the interface runs completely smoothly and there is no type of lag or graphic problem. Recall that the base in question prevented the mobile from overheating during its use as a PC. With the latest beta version of Android 9 Pie with Samsung Experience 10 this will not be necessary, in the same way that it happens with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Regarding its arrival to other models of the brand, the only compatible model for now is the Galaxy S9 Plus. It is not known if this feature will end up reaching the Galaxy S9 in its basic version, however, everything indicates that it will, since there is no technical difference between the Plus version and the base version, beyond the increase in RAM. Regarding the Galaxy S8 and S8 +, they are most likely not compatible.
Samsung Galaxy S9
Be that as it may, we will have to wait until the official launch of the ROM by Samsung to confirm this data, although as we have just mentioned, it is most likely that it is compatible. When will Android 9 arrive? It is currently a mystery, but some rumors point to December as the month of arrival.
