We are less than a month away from the official presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the rumors do not stop. If only a few days ago we saw some images with its design, today some details about its sale and its price have been leaked. A South Korean media ensures that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be more expensive than its predecessor. It is strange, since other rumors spoke of a possible price drop by the company.
We already know that Samsung will present the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + on February 25 at the MWC in Barcelona. We have also known many of its characteristics, without confirming of course. We even saw some press images leaked by Evan Blass, in which we got to know what, almost certainly, will be his final design. Today, a Korean media gives us release dates and possible price.
Release date and price
According to Etnews, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be available to reserve from March 2. The reservation period will be open from March 2 to 8. We understand that if so, the S9 would go on sale officially on March 9. Although it is not confirmed, it seems quite credible, since companies like to put the terminals on sale on Friday.
As for the price, the Korean publication talks about an increase over the launch price of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The latter was put up for sale in South Korea at a price of 935,000 won. This translated into Spain in 810 euros. According to the publication, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will go on sale with a price of between 950,000 and 990,000 won. If we make a calculation, it would mean an increase of between 15 and 50 euros in its price in Spain.
As you can imagine, this information applies to the South Korean country. The publication does not name the availability in Europe, but it would not be unusual for it to be the same. If so, reservations would be opened one week after the phone is presented at the MWC in Barcelona.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is one of the most anticipated terminals of the year. As we have seen, the new Korean terminal will have a slightly different design, smarter cameras and the usual increase in power. For now we will have to wait to confirm all these data. Of course, the wait will not be long.
