Rumors continue around what will presumably be one of the biggest smartphones of next year, the Samsung Galaxy S8. We have been commenting for a few days that the company could change its usual model and launch two terminals, but with a different strategy than what has been usual. According to an article published in the Korea Herald, the Samsung Galaxy S8 would only come out with a curved screen, the company eliminating the "flat" screen model. However, this will not mean that we will only have one Samsung Galaxy S8 model, since the company could choose to launch two models with different screen diagonals, just like other companies such asApple.
There are still at least a couple of months to go until we officially meet the Samsung Galaxy S8, but the network is still abuzz with rumors and leaks. One of the most popular is the possibility that the Korean company will eliminate the model without curves from the next edition of its flagship, moving to a strategy based on the launch of two models with different screen diagonals. According to the Korean media Korea Herald, the company will launch a model with a 5.7-inch curved screen and another model with a 6.2-inch panel. In addition, the published information ensures thatthe model with the larger screen will sport a new borderless design, with a body-to-screen ratio of 90%. That is, very similar to the impressive Xiaomi Mi Mix.
Although at the design level it may seem like a step forward, the possibility that the company does not launch a model with a "flat" screen does not seem to please some analysts. The reason is that, according to their reports, there are still many users who "move" from curved screens and who continue to demand "normal" screens, either because they are more uncomfortable to use (causing involuntary keystrokes) or because the curve still does not have an interesting utility for any user.
In addition to the possible design change and the appearance of two models with different diagonal, much has been said about the next Samsung flagship. It is assumed that the company will renew the internal hardware, with a more powerful processor (possibly called Exynos 8895) and more RAM (maybe 6 GB). There is also talk of the possibility that the company uses some type of double lens for the camera, although the latest rumors are betting on a single camera solution.
The possible design change without frames could bring with it the incorporation of the fingerprint reader under the screen glass, another of the rumors that is getting the most force on the net. And, like last year, there is also talk of a possible change in screen resolution, opting for a Super AMOLED panel but with 4K resolution.
At the moment everything is still rumors, so we will have to keep waiting to know what the Samsung Galaxy S8 will finally be like.
