The latest launches in the smartphone market have had a common denominator: the double camera. Each company has decided to opt for a different solution, but the current “trend” is that the new high-end smartphones have two objectives. Even Apple has succumbed. However, new rumors ensure that the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 could risk and continue to opt for a single camera solution. The vice president of Samsung commented that the Samsung Galaxy S8 would have an “improved camera” , but did not give any clues about the possible solution that the Koreans will opt for.
There are already many high-end terminals that have chosen to include a double lens in their main camera. The LG G5 opted for a wide-angle lens capable of reaching 135 degrees. The Huawei Mate 9 incorporates an improved version of the monochrome lens developed together with the Leica company. And the iPhone 7 Plus uses the double camera to achieve, on the one hand, a 2x optical zoom and, on the other, a bokeh effect in real time. With this in mind, it stands to reason that the next Samsung Galaxy S8I could count on some kind of dual camera solution. However, a new rumor ensures that the Korean company may not follow the market trend and continue to improve the camera that currently incorporates the Samsung Galaxy S7. A camera that, on the other hand, is still one of the best on the market.
The rumor comes from Weibo, the same site that just a few weeks ago claimed that the next smartphone from the Korean company would have a double camera, so we must take it with a grain of salt. We still have several months to go before we see Samsung's new flagship, but rumors about the device continue to grow. If we pay attention to everything that has been published so far, the Korean company could offer us a Samsung Galaxy S8 very different from the one we saw both last year and the previous one. Many rumors assure that the typical oval button that all the company's terminals offer to introduce the fingerprint reader inside the screen will be eliminated., thus offering a design without mechanical buttons on the front.
Another of the rumors that emerged ensures that Samsung would eliminate the model without curved edges, which could lead to a diversification strategy through the size of the screen, just like Apple does. Rumors speak of two different screen sizes: 5.7 and 6.2 inches.
Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will arrive with a processor update, which will presumably be called the Exynos 8895, and, perhaps, with an increase in RAM, which could go up to 6 GB. There has also been talk of the possibility that the new Samsung terminal will arrive with a storage capacity of 256 GB, although it remains to be seen if it would be a unique model, as is currently the case, or if it would be a model to choose from among others.
For now we will have to wait to see what the Samsung Galaxy S8 will offer us, but, like every year, it is already becoming one of the most anticipated smartphones for 2017. We will see what Samsung surprises us with.
