Samsung is starting to roll out the latest May security patch for the Samsung Galaxy S7. The update has started to roll out in the Netherlands, although it is expected to land shortly in the rest of the markets where it operates. Specifically, the model that is receiving the security patch is the one that operates free (SM-G930F), the one that is not subject to any operator.
The May security patch for the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with firmware version G930FXXU1DQE7, and is 373MB in size. As usual, the update includes bug fixes, stability and performance improvements. Normally, you will receive a pop-up message on the screen of your Galaxy S7 advising you of this update. If not, you already know that you can check it yourself from the Settings menu, in software update.
Before upgrade
You already know that before performing the update you should take into account a number of things. These are very necessary preliminary steps so that nothing can happen to your Samsung Galaxy S7 when installing the security patch. The first thing is to make a backup with all the data you have stored on the device. You already know that you can dump the information to an external hard drive or to a cloud storage service.
When you receive the message or see that the update is now available to download, we recommend that you always do it through a secure and stable WiFi connection. Avoid unreliable or unknown WiFis. Also, never update when the terminal is almost empty. Before upgrading, make sure you have more than 50 percent battery power. As on other occasions, this update arrives via OTA, which means that you will not have to have any type of cable.
