The Samsung Galaxy S5 aims to be the new king of the Android segment and the clues about its components leave no one indifferent. The latest leak about its alleged technical sheet refers to the processor, an eight-core Exynos with 64-bit architecture that will take power to a new level, but it would not be the only piece to go in this direction. The blog SammyHub has revealed that the company has already started to produce new RAM memories for mobile devices, much more efficient from the energy point of view and very fast. Samsung becomes the first brand to develop the first8 Gigabit LPDDR4 RAM memory chip. This piece will be released in future mobile devices, and everything indicates that the Samsung Galaxy S5 could be the first to release it.
The new RAM memory will begin mass production in early 2014, a date that fits perfectly with the launch of the device in spring, not in the first quarter as previously discussed. The LPDDR4 system, which stands for Low-Power Double-Data-Rate, promises according to the company "the highest level of density, performance and energy efficiency on the market." Equip devices that operate faster, offer a time of instant response and can extend the battery life thanks to its low consumption. These8 Gigabit chips can be stacked in groups of four, to create a 4 Gigabyte RAM chip, which would be what we could see in the Samsung Galaxy S5. In addition, the chip is optimized for devices with high resolution screens, and since rumors point to a 2K resolution panel, everything fits perfectly. The 4Gb RAM combined with the 64-bit processor, could give the Samsung Galaxy S5 the fastest smartphone title of the moment.
The chip has been manufactured with the 20 nanometer process and is capable of transferring at a rate of 3,200 Mbps, twice what LPDDR3 RAM can handle. As if that were not enough, they consume 40% less energy, a very important point that will significantly affect the battery life. At the moment it has not been confirmed that they will be included in the Samsung Galaxy S5, but it would not be surprising that Samsung wants to put all the meat on the grill with its next flagship and bet on this new piece. The device could be presented in April and would arrive with a screen of 5 or 5.2 inches with 2K resolution, a camera with systemISOCELL to improve low-light photos and the 64-bit processor combo with 4Gb LPDDR4 RAM. If the rumors are confirmed, Samsung could make things very difficult for its main competitors.
