Just yesterday we advanced that the Samsung Galaxy S5 could be presented in society on February 23, on the eve of the Mobile World Congress 2013 celebration. But what will the next Korean flagship really look like? Speaking to Bloomberg, the company's vice president, Lee Young Hee, indicated that Samsung was looking to make a radical change in the design of its own equipment, although at that time it did not want to give more clues. Some of the most anticipated changes are directly related to materials. And it is that under the opinion of many users, the firm should abandon the manufacture of plastic housings to switch to metals. Beyond this controversy, which seems minor to us, there is another issue that is more closely linked to the design and functions of the smartphone itself. The US Patent and Trademark Office (UPSTO) has just opened Pandora's Box with the granting of a new design patent to Samsung. The graphics show the existence of a new smartphone from the Galaxy family that lacks physical buttons on the front.
First of all, it should be noted that Samsung's patent was filed on July 20, 2012, just after the firm had deposited another patent for a phone with the same features in the office. The fact is that, taking into account that the patent was filed so long ago, it would not be strange that the absence of buttons could become the protagonist of the next design of the Samsung Galaxy S5 or even the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that the company will present at the end of year. But this is not all we have to comment on these sketches. And is that one of the drawings shows a rectangle on the back right of the computer. Is this the place reserved for theSamsung Galaxy S5 fingerprint sensor ? Considering that this is one of the rumors that has been emphasized the most in recent months, the number of probabilities that this image belongs to the fifth generation of Samsung's flagship increases considerably.
On the back of the device we find the relevant camera with flash and what could be a speaker, located in the lower area. In the same drawing, the existence of the classic 3.5 mm headphone output and the power button is observed.
In any case, it seems that to clarify what the next Samsung Galaxy S5 will be like and what its technical characteristics will be, we will have to wait a bit. The most optimistic forecasts place the presentation on February 23, although its official launch should not be extended beyond March. Rumors say the device come equipped with a large screen 5.25 inches and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The processor could be branded Exynos and 64-bit. To all this, we would have to add a RAM of 3 GB (at least) and the integration of one of the latest versions of the operating system ofGoogle: Android 4.4.2 (KitKat). The main camera on the back of the equipment may carry a sensor ISOCELL that range between 16 and 20 megapixels. One of the most anticipated novelties would reside, without a doubt, in the fingerprint sensor. Under the opinion of the most futurists, however, Samsung could have studied the integration to the equipment of the first iris scanner on the market.
