The moment has come. The Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S5 are now ready to be updated to the latest version of Android. Samsung Responde, Samsung's after-sales service in Spain, has just announced through its Twitter account that the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow has just started in our country. The data pack, which is already reaching users, brings with it a handful of improvements. One of the most important has to do, without a doubt, with individual permissions. From now on, with your Samsung Galaxy S5You can grant permissions to applications in a more specific way, at any time and not only during installation. It is a much safer and more practical system. But this is not all that Android 6.0 Marshmallow can offer us on board the Samsung Galaxy S5.
The update will introduce improvements in battery life, thanks in part to the function Doze, which handles put to sleep those applications and functions that do not use when the phone is idle, for example, network access or content synchronization. Google Now, which becomes Google Now On Tap, has also been improved with accurate, useful and contextualized information, so that it appears just when we need it most. They make daily backups to Google Drive applications, configurations and games and offer users the ability to use the SD card as default storage. It has beenimproved memory management and much more detailed statistics on RAM usage are provided.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S5, it has the code SM-G900F (it is the model that was marketed in Spain and Europe) and it is also from Vodafone, the time has come for you to get down to work. The most logical (and quick) would be to launch an update via FOTA (Firmware Over The Air), without cables, but you can also use the Smart Switch software . In any case, if you use the first option, which is the most frequent, we recommend doing the following:
1. Check if you have enough storage space on your computer. Keep in mind that this is quite a heavy update. Review content and applications that you do not use and save all the information you can in the cloud or on other media to free up space.
2. Make a backup of all your most important content and settings. Any update process involves risks, so it is important to have everything insured.
3. Fully charge the battery of your Samsung Galaxy S5. Make sure it is at least 50% full. Otherwise, you could experience unexpected power outages that could damage your equipment.
4. Finally, remember to connect to a secure WiFi wireless network to download. You will save a good peak in data and you will be able to download the data package much faster.
You already have everything to start with the update. And you, have you already received the notice? If you still do not have news of any download, you can access the Settings and Software updates section to check if Android is already available.
