Last May, users of the American telephone company AT&T received the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, an off-road version (with a military look) made by the South Korean company Samsung from the Samsung Galaxy S5. At first it was an exclusive mobile of this operator, but new rumors indicate that the exclusive contract for this model of the Galaxy S5 could be about to expire, which would mean that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active could reach Europe in a matter of weeks.
Although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active shares technical specifications very similar to those of the Samsung Galaxy S5, what really differentiates it from the original version of this mobile is its MIL-STD-810G certificate, which gives it resistance to practically any phenomenon of nature: salt , dust , humidity , rain , vibrations and solar radiation , among others. In addition, its reinforced case not only maintains resistance to water and dust through the IP67 certificate present in the Galaxy S5But also adds additional resistance against blows and falls from the terminal to the ground. The very design of the Galaxy S5 Active shows us that this is a mobile with a military aspect characterized by details such as, for example, three physical buttons of the operating system Android located below the screen.
The measurements of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active are somewhat higher than those of the Samsung Galaxy S5; while the SUV version is presented with a size of 145.3 x 73.4 x 8.9 mm and a weight of 170.1 grams, the conventional measures version incorporates a 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm with a weight of 145 grams. All other specifications remain practically intact: screen 5.1 inches with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution, processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 of four cores running at 2.5 GHz,2 gigabytes of memory RAM, 16 gigabytes of memory (expandable by a card microSD up to 128 gigabytes), main chamber 16 megapixels, operating system Android (presumably the operating system will come in version Android 4.4.2 KitKat) and battery with 2,800 mAh capacity.
At the moment there is no official confirmation regarding the availability of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active in Europe, so that - assuming that this leak has complete veracity - we will have to wait a few weeks until we know the date on which this new version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 can be purchased in European stores. Rumors indicate that its launch will take place during the first days of October, and the Galaxy S5 Active is expected to reach European territory in two versions with different shell colors: a version with an army green color and another version with a gray color.
