It was not necessary to finish the year to break the mark of the best seller of 2010: the Samsung Galaxy S2 has already surpassed the barrier of ten million terminals sold worldwide. As we know through SlahGear, the Korean multinational has managed to distribute in less than five months the same number of units as the approximately eight months that it was set as a target last year for its previous edition, the Samsung Galaxy S.
This record has been reached with the distributions of the Samsung Galaxy S2 in Asia, Europe and parts of Latin America, mainly. Where the best regional records have obtained sales has been in South Korea itself, homeland of the terminal, reaching 3.6 million units acquired in this period. Already in its first month of release, it reached the mark of the first million phones sold of this model in the Asian country, setting the standard for what was to come.
In Europe, where the Samsung Galaxy S2 was released throughout the month of May, the terminal has so far reached 3.4 million sales. Recently the edition with a white casing of the same mobile has begun to be distributed, which may be a new push towards the gallery. In other parts of Asia, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has achieved 2.3 million units sold, completing the record with devices acquired in America and Australia.
But the best is yet to come. In addition to an entire quarter pending to make the Samsung brand more lustrous (including the very lucrative Christmas campaign), the Samsung Galaxy S2 lands these days in the United States, where it arrives in the form of a renewed edition with even more powerful features than the that we know from the i9100 model that we have in our hands in the rest of the world.
The figure is not only a record for the South Korean firm, but it represents a notable milestone for the sales of a single terminal in the Android range, highlighting the trust placed by users in the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the success of the company Asian when it comes to designing this slim and powerful device. Of course, and based on this brand, the Samsung terminal is confirmed as a tough rival to beat for the imminent iPhone 5.
