With the Samsung Galaxy S2 we can do many things: control its functions live, use it as a powerful free GPS, record and play videos in FullHD, navigate through Flash web pages and, of course, talk on the phone. But what we had never come to regret is that it also served to ride a bike. And not on any type of bike, but on an electric one.
Through fellow Engadget we have known that in the Hall of the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 has left see a model manufactured bicycle by the American Ford, which would have the peculiarity that for operation requires a Samsung Galaxy S2 installed on a dock that we see on the handlebar.
The matter is based on an application that apparently is only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S2, and that is used to activate the electrical system of the E-Bike, which is what this futuristic and very geeky means of transport is called. The vehicle reaches a maximum speed of 25 km / h and is powered by a motor supplied by a 9.2 amp battery.
The application that makes it possible to start the E-Bike with the Samsung Galaxy S2, in addition to working as an ignition key, equips a kind of on-board computer that informs us of the status of the machine. Thus, on the 4.27-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy S2 we could examine the pressure of the wheels, the remaining autonomy of the battery, the running speed and other similar values.
And that's not to mention the rest of the options available for the simple fact of being a mobile that works with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. For example, with E-Bike and the Samsung Galaxy S2 we could plan a route using Google Maps or Navigation so as not to get lost (although the power of the phone's speaker may be somewhat short to be heard correctly while driving), as well as other utilities among the more than 250,000 available on the Android Market.
Unfortunately, there is no confirmed price for this smart bike that has in the Samsung Galaxy S2 something more than a powerful ally: rather it recognizes the most powerful mobile of the Korean firm as a brain without which little use could have the E- Bike.
