Few months after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9, we continue to receive leaks regarding the next Samsung flagship. A new patent would have revealed the intentions of the South Korean to include a notch in the Galaxy S10 that would change the appearance of the device. At the moment, it is unknown if it would be used in the new flagship phone of the "Galaxy S" family or in the next Note 9, although the latter is less likely.
Mobilekopen.net has been in charge of exposing Samsung's patent application file in China, which suggests that the company would end up adopting the notch in its next smartphones. The illustrations presented alongside the documents reveal a design inspired by Apple's iPhone X, with the notch included at the top of the screen. It would be the most obvious change, as the panel would still curve slightly, just like on the Galaxy S9. If this news becomes official, Samsung would cease to be one of the manufacturers that have not yet succumbed to the charms of the notch. There are very few left, if not none. Xiaomi is another of them, but it is said that he would release it on his next Xiaomi Mi 7 device.
If you look at the patent images, the rear would also get a major facelift. The dual sensor module would be moved to the upper left corner, as in the iPhone 8 Plus. Thus, it would be the first time that the rear panel of a Samsung phone would completely abandon the traditional "center aligned" design. The back wouldn't house any fingerprint sensors either. This can mean two things. One, that Samsung would once again rely on the facial recognition system along with the iris scanner. Another, which could include it in the panel itself, as has been rumored for a long time. Another surprising element is the presence of the 3.5mm headphone port that most of Samsung's rivals have already started to abandon.
