Samsung is beginning to roll out the December security update for all users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The update arrives with version number N9600ZHU1ARL1 and has begun to see the light in Hong Kong, although it is a matter of time before it reaches the rest of countries where the terminal is marketed, including Spain. As usual, the download is available via OTA (over the air), which means that you don't need to use any type of cable to enjoy it.
The December security patch for the Galaxy Note 9 includes fixes for six critical vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and fixes for more than a dozen high-risk vulnerabilities. It should be noted that this update only has the security patch, no update has been added for the mobile operating system. Right now, the Note 9 is getting Android 9 Pie in beta. It's already in its second public beta, which means it's a matter of weeks before you can have the final version of Pie.
If the days go by and you do not receive a pop-up message on your mobile notifying you of the security update, you just have to enter the settings menu of the Note 9, in software updates and search manually. Of course, before updating the equipment it is necessary that you take into account a series of tips so that no problem occurs during the process.
- Check that you have a sufficient battery level. The best thing is that you update with more than fifty percent autonomy. If the phone were to turn off during the update it could become unusable.
- Your Note 9 needs to have sufficient storage capacity when installing the update. If this is not the case, transfer all the photos and files you want to save to the cloud. Keep in mind that if the computer detects that you are short of space, the installation could not take place.
- When updating, always connect to a secure WiFi. Avoid doing it with the data connection or on public WiFis.
