The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the first Samsung high-end terminal to receive the update patch corresponding to this month of November. At the moment, the update has been launched in different European countries such as Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Romania. We still do not have news of when the exact date will be that the security patch will reach our borders but we hope that it will take place in the next few days. The code for the November 2018 update is N950FXXS5CRJ6.
What's in the update file for Samsung Galaxy Note 8?
This new security update fixes eleven critical vulnerabilities of the Android operating system and eight other elements of 'Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) which are exclusive files of the Korean brand only found on their phones. Other mid-range terminals have already received this update. The date on which the rest of Samsung's flagships will be able to have it available for download and installation is not known either.
The file containing the November security patch has a weight of 544 MB and you will be able to download it from the phone itself when you receive the notification. Make sure to take these series of items into consideration before you prepare to install the update.
Your mobile should not be performing any file installation operations when it has low battery. Imagine that, during the process, the phone runs out of battery, turns off, and we are left half. Obviously, the phone will not start and, unless we go to investigate on the network, we could have been left with a nice paperweight.
The file is quite heavy so you will have to wait to be connected under WiFi if you do not want the next month's bill to arrive and get a good scare, or see that you have run out of data in a single day.
And since it is quite heavy, it will need a lot of space inside your phone to be installed. Delete the files that you do not use with an application that does it automatically like Files Go by Google, which, with a click of a button, you can free up a lot of space.
And one last tip: make a backup copy of the files you have on your mobile. Installing security patches does not involve formatting the phone, but just in case, it is always best to put what you care about on your phone safely.
