After the update of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S6, it is the turn of another of the company's top of the range. Everything seems to indicate that Samsung is already rolling out the update to Android 7.0 Nougat for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The update has been detected in Romania, so more than likely in the next few days it will reach the rest of Europe.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is the latest smartphone in the Note series. An almost unique device on the market, with a large screen and a companion stylus. Until now the Koreans had focused their efforts on updating both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S6. Two mobiles much more widespread than the Note family. However, after the rollout of the update in the United States, it seems that Android 7 is starting to reach the European Galaxy Note 5. It is something normal, since we must remember that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 took a long time to arrive in Europe.
According to Phonearena, the update has appeared on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 from Romania. This update to Android 7.0 Nougat weighs around 1.3 GB, so we will have to make sure we have enough space to install it. Generally, when the company deploys an update like this in a European country, it does not take long to reach the other countries.
Something important to keep in mind when the update arrives in Spain. If we use Samsung Pay, it is necessary to update the application before installing Android 70. Nougat on our Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
On the other hand, it is always advisable to follow some basic tips:
- The first thing is, as we said, make sure we have enough space.
- The second, it is always better to update with a full battery and the mobile connected to the electrical current. If the terminal shuts down in the middle of the update it could be rendered useless.
- Third, better to be connected to WiFi that uses mobile data. First, because the connection will almost certainly be faster. And second, because the update occupies more than 1 GB that will fly off our data rate.
- Finally, once we have updated, it would not hurt to do a factory reset. We know that this can be a trauma, but if we make a backup then we can restore the mobile to its previous state. This way we will achieve greater fluidity when eliminating unnecessary elements.
What can we expect from the new version?
Despite the fact that many of the functions that Android 7 includes had already been implemented by Samsung, we can expect some interesting news. For example, now we can enjoy multi-screen shortcuts without the need for Force Touch. That is, by pressing and holding on the icon of some apps (such as Google apps) a series of shortcuts will appear to quickly access some functions.
We will also have Night Mode available, a yellowish filter to reduce the harmful blue light emitted by the screens. Of course we will have the new native Multiscreen, being able to divide the screen in two and have two apps open at the same time.
In addition, we can respond directly to notifications, from the notification center and without having to open the corresponding application.
The update to Android 7.0 Nougat does not come alone. The March security patch for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will also be added. As we said, at the moment, it is beginning to be deployed in Europe. We hope that the update to Android 7.0 Nougat for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will arrive in our country very soon.
