European users who own the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have begun to receive a new operating system update via OTA today (that is, an update available directly from the mobile itself). The update occupies an approximate space of 137 MegaBytes, and the file under which it is being distributed corresponds to the numbering of N910FXXU1ANK4. This new update does not seem to bring any detailed list of changes, although everything indicates that it is a minor update that only incorporates bug fixes.
The first to receive this new update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 seem to be users in Germany, so it is to be expected that in the next few hours this update will be distributed throughout the European territory. As it is an update distributed via OTA, the procedure to download and install it is as simple as following these steps:
- First of all, all those users who prefer to wait to receive the update on their Note 4 all they have to do is pay attention to the notification center. In it a notification will appear informing of the availability of a new update, and all you have to do to download it is to click on the " Accept " button that will appear on it.
- The other option is to perform the update availability check manually. To do this, first, you have to access the Settings application of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
- Once inside, you have to enter the " About the device " section.
- Then you have to click on the option " Operating system updates ", and from here the mobile itself will indicate the steps to follow to download and install the update. In the case of such a large update (137 MegaBytes), it is essential to download through WiFi connectivity.
On the other hand and beyond this small update, the owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 must arm themselves with patience to receive what will become one of the most important operating system updates of the year: Android 5.0 Lollipop, the most recent version of Android. The distribution of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on this mobile is already confirmed, and it is expected that the update will begin to reach users from January 2015 next year.
Although the South Korean company Samsung has published the odd clue regarding the new version of Lollipop in the Note 4, for now we have to settle only for the leaked video in which you can see a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running under Android 5.0 Lollipop. Owners of other mobiles such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 or even the Samsung Galaxy S4 can also take a look at the respective videos showing the version of Android 5.0 Lollipop in action.
