Good news comes from Asian territories. The South Korean company Samsung has starred in a new leak in which an apparently official document reveals the plans of this manufacturer to update its smartphones to the latest version of the Android operating system, Android 4.4.4 KitKat. According to this document, Samsung already has almost ready the Android 4.4.4 KitKat updates for mobiles such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. But also, other terminals such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini appear as "pending" in the document, which means that there is a possibility that they will also end up updating to the most recent version of the Android operating system.
Although the document has not been officially confirmed by Samsung, its structure is similar to that of previous leaked documents that eventually turned out to be true. In this case, the document indicates that the tests of the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo are in their last phase, which would come to say that release of the update is imminent. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, along with the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, seem to be in a still premature testing phase, although the document indicates that these phones will also begin to receive the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update during the month of November.
The data that will probably generate the most controversy among the community of Samsung users is the fact that the Note 2 can be updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat while the Samsung Galaxy S3, a mobile phone launched on a similar date, will not receive update Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Although it is true that both mobiles hit stores on similar dates, the reason for this difference is another: the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 incorporates 2 GigaBytes of RAM, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 only has a RAM memory of 1 GigaByte. In fact, the Asian version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 that incorporates 2 GigaBytes of RAM has been officially updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. In summary, the main reason for Samsung when it comes to putting aside mobile updates lies in the ability that this phone may have to move a higher version of the Android operating system fluently.
Regarding the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, we are talking about a file that will not bring major changes to the interface (at least compared to Android 4.4.2 KitKat), and it will mainly be an update intended for fix small bugs and fix some security flaws. At the beginning of November we will know if this leak is true.
