We have been talking about it for a long time, and although it is not yet available in the European market, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 has already been officially launched in Asian territory. This is revealed by new detailed photographs that show in high quality the design of this new smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is a phablet- type mobile that incorporates a six-inch screen, and it is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 that hit stores in mid- 2013.
The photographs that have appeared on the net this time come from an Asian technology magazine called DroidSans , and through it we have not only been able to know the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 but we have also been able to confirm all its technical specifications. Regarding the design, the Mega 2 is made up of a plastic casing accompanied by the usual metallic appearance (simulated through paint) on the sides of the mobile. On the back we have a cover with an imitation leather material (similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3) accompanied by two seams located parallel to the sides of the terminal. Said rear cover can be removed to access the battery, so you can confirm that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 incorporates a removable battery.
The technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 partially coincide with the information that we learned from the recent rumors that appeared on the net. The screen of the Mega 2 has a size of six inches and resolution is of type HD, which means it is set in 1,280 x 720 pixels. The processor incorporated inside this mobile responds to the name of Exynos 4415, it has four cores and works at a clock speed of 1.4 GHz together with a graphics processor called Mali-400MP. Memory capacityRAM is set at 1.5 GigaBytes, while the internal storage space is 16 GigaBytes (of which, due to the files installed as standard, the user actually has 11 GigaBytes). Although the analysis along with which these photographs have been published mentions that the Mega 2 incorporates a microSD slot, at the moment we do not know the maximum capacity that this mobile supports when inserting an external memory card.
In the multimedia aspect, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 incorporates a main camera of eight megapixels (with autofocus and LED flash), while the front camera comes with a sensor of 2.1 megapixels. All these specifications are complemented by a 2,800 mAh battery, the Android operating system in its Android version 4.4.4 KitKat and 4G LTE (ultra-fast Internet) connectivity.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 for the Asian market is around 350 euros, and taking into account the characteristic taxes that are taxed in Europe, it is most likely that the Mega 2 costs more than 400 euros in Europe. All this if it finally reaches the European market, something that is not yet confirmed and that leaves us no choice but to wait until Samsung makes an official announcement.
