This year Samsung wants to offer a mobile phone to all types of users. We have seen how the new Galaxy A family has multiple options available. Also the Galaxy M family, with the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 already available. However, it seems that the Korean manufacturer has another model “in the oven”. It is the Samsung Galaxy M40, a device that seems to have a triple camera and that has appeared today on Geekbench. Thanks to the tests of the well-known performance test, we have been able to know the type of processor and the amount of RAM that the terminal includes.
The truth is that very little is still known about the Samsung Galaxy M40. A leaked image a few days ago (the one that heads this article) showed a design very similar to that of its little brothers. Today we have known what hardware includes the new Samsung device. According to Geekbench, the M40 hides a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor inside. It is an SoC with eight cores operating at 1.71 GHz.
This is accompanied by 6 GB of RAM. We also know that it will arrive with Android 9 Pie installed as standard. With this hardware, the Samsung Galaxy M40 achieves a score of 2,350 points in the single-core test and 6,410 points in the multi-core test. In other words, the Geekbench performance of the M40 is far superior to the Geekbench scores obtained by the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30.
Other characteristics to be determined
Although the processor and memory have been revealed in Geekbench, the rest of the features of the Samsung Galaxy M40 remain unconfirmed. According to the latest rumors, the terminal could have a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen. A screen that would have a drop-shaped notch, thus maintaining the Infinity-U design of other models.
And if the leaked image is real, it is clear that the M40 will have a triple camera system on its back. As for the sensors, there is talk of a configuration with a 13-megapixel main sensor and two 5-megapixel sensors. On the other hand, it would have a front camera with a 16 megapixel sensor.
It has also been commented that it could be a terminal with a 5,000 milliamp battery. It would thus offer great autonomy to users looking for a mid-range. And as for the price, rumors speak of an amount between 300 and 350 dollars. We will have to wait to confirm all these details.
