Samsung a month ago launched the Galaxy M40 with a powerful combination of functions. And now we have one of your first software updates with some cool options.
Camera and facial recognition improvements
For example, one of the points that this new version improves is the dynamics of facial recognition. Samsung does not specifically mention the aspects that it has improved, but the SamMobile team have noticed that it works faster after they installed the update.
Another aspect that users will notice is that the possibility of using the blue light filter is integrated. A feature that is already characteristic of almost all mobile devices, which allows to reduce the blue light of the screen to avoid eye strain.
To activate this function you have to go to Settings >> Display >> Blue light filter. This function offers different options to adjust it according to your needs. For example, you can set it to activate for a period of time (at night) or adjust the opacity.
It also brings improvements to the camera, the respective security patch that corresponds to June as well as corrections in the software. One of the features that was expected in this update was the integration of Bixby routines, which allows you to create custom actions that will be activated automatically.
However, Samsung has not included this option in this software version. We'll see if some of the upcoming updates surprise users with Bixby Routines.
How to update the Galaxy M40
It is a software update so the device will issue a notification when it is available for installation. Or if you want to try your luck try the update manually from Settings or Adjustment >> Software update >> Download and install.
If it is available you will see that the download size is 378.40 MB. While some resort to other homemade means to have the update as quickly as possible, this process can bring some errors if you are a beginner. So be patient, it will be available to all users in the next few days.
