Samsung is starting to roll out the July security patch for the Samsung Galaxy J8. At the moment, it is only available in countries like Colombia or Brazil, but it is a matter of time before it reaches the rest of the places where it is sold. As usual, this patch corrects different vulnerabilities, so it is recommended to install it as soon as the notification is received in the terminal.
Normally, when the security update is available you will see a pop-up message on the screen of the Samsung Galaxy J8 advising you of its availability. You already know that in case the days pass and it does not arrive, you can check it yourself from the Settings section, About the device, Software update. The company has not given details of which vulnerabilities or security problems it fixes, but we imagine that those are necessary to protect you against threats and security holes.
Therefore, it is vital that you install the patch as soon as it is available. Of course, as in system updates, we recommend that before downloading it you take into account a series of things. First make a backup of all the data stored on your Galaxy J8. You already know that for this you can use a cloud storage service, such as Dropbox or Google Drive. Also, before downloading the patch, try to find yourself in a place with a stable and fast WiFi connection. Avoid installing it in places with public and open WiFis. Also, do not turn off the device during the installation process.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 was announced just two months ago. The device features a 6-inch SuperAMOLED infinity screen with HD + resolution. Inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It also has a 16 megapixel main and secondary camera, as well as a 3,550 mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. For now the phone is not marketed in Spain, but it is a matter of time before it reaches our country as well.
