It was last December when we got to know the new Samsung Galaxy Grand, a mobile that seeks to propose a format halfway between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, although presenting a technical profile closer to what we would understand by a mid-range. It was expected that the device might show at Mobile World Congress 2013, without having too many ballots that the idea came to stores before the start of the fair moving to Barcelona. However, it seems that finally the Samsung Galaxy Grand will go ahead in its commercial premiere.
As we have learned through GSM Arena, Samsung's regional delegation in Ukraine would have confirmed that this Eastern European country would start selling the Samsung Galaxy Grand from next February. There are no specific dates for the launch, although given that the most important world event for the telephony sector will take place in the last bars of next month, it seems more than possible that the new device with a five-inch screen will be available before the gun exit of the event. This country would be the first to distribute the Samsung Galaxy Grand,Although not the only one: other regions of the continent will also join the premiere of this smartphone during the same February.
On the other hand, the price that this phone would reach would also have been revealed. Specifically, we would be talking about just under 410 euros to get the Samsung Galaxy Grand freely, although the operators would support the sale of this equipment, so that the user could get hold of it through formulas derived from subsidies or financing, depending on the type of agreement reached with the telephone company. This price is slightly below what the Samsung Galaxy S3 costs today, so it seems that the South Korean multinational will take advantage of the attractiveness of the large screen to show it as an alternative to its two high-end, although technically it is located in a lower scale.
To refresh your memory, we say that this Samsung Galaxy Grand, plus a design very close to the aforementioned Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and a display of five inches, boasts a resolution panel of 800 x 480 pixels. The power of the equipment is subject to a dual-core processor, capable of developing a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz. Although this places the Samsung Galaxy Grand below the Galaxy S3, the phone in question has more RAM, reaching two GB.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Grand carries eight GB of storage memory, which can be expanded with microSD cards. A couple of cameras star in the multimedia section, developing maximum resolutions of eight and two megapixels, depending on whether we are talking about the main sensor, located on the back of the phone, or the secondary sensor, which we see on the front. The Samsung Galaxy Grand runs from day one with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
