The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro is starting to receive Android 8.0 Oreo. For now, the update has landed only in Vietnam, although it will do the same gradually in the rest of the countries where the device is marketed. As is usual in these cases, the download is being carried out via OTA (Over The Air), which means that we will not need to use any type of cable to do it. This has a weight of 2.09 GB, something to take into account when updating.
Last summer, Samsung assured that some devices that are more than two years old would receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update from December. One of them was the Galaxy A9 Pro (2016), as well as the Galaxy J7 Neo and ten other models. Two months before, the A9 Pro already begins to receive the new operating system. As we say, the update has begun to take place in Vietnam, but it will gradually reach the rest of the countries.
In this way, if you have a Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2016), it is normal that you see a pop-up message on the device advising you of the update. If not, you can consult it yourself from the settings section, about the device, software updates. The new Android Oreo 8.0 does not arrive alone. It does so together with the Samsung Experience 9.0 customization layer.
The platform has some outstanding features, such as a smarter notification system, performance and battery improvements, or the famous Picture-in-Picture mode. Thanks to this last function you can watch a video while you are using other applications or services. On the other hand, like it or not, responsive icons are also part of this new version, which means that some apps are required to have a white outline if they don't meet Google's icon design requirements.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro landed on the market in 2016. The terminal has a 6-inch screen with Full HD resolution (1080 x 1920), Snapdragon 652 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Likewise, it also offers a 16 and 8 megapixel main and secondary sensor, or a 5,000 mAh battery.
