IPhone and iPad users were uneasy last Saturday night. Apple's tradition of making mistakes in the programming of its operating system for mobiles and tablets when it comes to correctly identifying the winter time change has brought people and strangers upside down in recent years. And although this time the iOS 7 platform has behaved well, it has not managed to carry out the process without any incident.
Through Apple Insider we have learned that although at three in the morning from Saturday to Sunday, the clock went back to setting at two, the calendar did not identify the change normally. The fault is manifested when taking a look at the daily schedule, so that when you have to present the time in the corresponding time slot of the day, it is displayed on the screen as if the system had not made the time change effective. In other words, if we have an event scheduled at 5:30 p.m., the corresponding calendar sheet in its day-to-day view will show us that, indeed, we have the appointment at 5:30 p.m., but the graphic mark will appear between the 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., instead of being between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Agree that this time Apple's slap on the wrist is much less than on previous occasions. But it is still surprising that, year after year, they do not quite make this section work properly. In other years, as we say, things have gone further, preventing the alarms of those users who had to wake up at a certain time during the Sunday in which the time change had become effective, from remaining in bed. The latest episode in the long history of winter time inconveniences on iPhones and iPads will have to wait for a fix: until Apple releases a new iOS 7 update, the display error will continue.
We have already pointed out that this incidence is lower. But if we take into account the trajectory that the firm has already taken in the section on time changes, and that iOS 7 already has many errors behind it, which have come to affect the battery and the safety of the devices. The problem of the calendar and the time has also coincided with the launch weekend of the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C in our country. Since last Friday, October 25, it is already possible to buy the new high-end in Spain, for prices between 700 and 900 euros, in free format, as well as the equipment that is comparable to the iPhone 5, although with a different design, for 600 and 700 euros. The four main operators in our country have included both models in their catalogs, and from today it is possible to consult in this medium which of them is the one that most subsidizes the sale of these devices. In any case, all the proposals contemplate financing options.
