Design in line with the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro
The novelties in design compared to the current generation are not very remarkable. In fact, the phone inherits the aesthetic line of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, with a front that now uses two cameras to give the device more versatility. If we talk about the screen, the OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-inch panel with Full HD + resolution, Fluid AMOLED technology and a 90 Hz refresh rate, the same figure as the OnePlus 8.
Regarding the rear, the terminal opts for somewhat different aesthetics. The camera module now happens to be on the left side of the terminal, while maintaining the curvature of the glass that covers the housing. Two good news: it maintains the Alert Slider that has so characterized the company's mobiles and the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
It is a mid-range mobile, with all that this entails
So is. Unlike the brand's flagships, the OnePlus Nord opts for a more restrained technical configuration. In summary, the phone has a Snapdragon 765G processor along with two options of 8 and 12 GB of RAM and 128 and 256 GB of internal storage of type UFS 2.1, a type of memory that lags far behind the UFS 3.1 standard. of his older brothers. Of course, it is compatible with the latest generation 5G NSA and SA networks, something that is assumed if we take into account the processor model it integrates.
Regarding the connectivity section, the device has WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC. It is also accompanied by a 4,115 mAh battery with the same fast charging system as the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro: OnePlus Warp Charge 30T with up to 30 W of charge. The manufacturer claims that it is capable of charging 70% of the battery in 30 minutes.
A photographic bet that gets rid of the telephoto lens
As rumored from the beginning, OnePlus has opted for a lens configuration very similar to the one found in the OnePlus 8: main sensor, wide angle lens, macro lens and depth sensor.
If we focus on the specifications of the cameras, the OnePlus Nord integrates two sensors of 48 and 8 megapixels and two additional sensors whose resolution has not been provided by the manufacturer and that corresponds to the macro camera of the terminal and the depth sensor. It should be noted that the main sensor is the well-known Sony IMX586, capable of recording video at a maximum resolution of 4K at 30 frames per second.
And what about the front cameras? In this case, the manufacturer has chosen to install two sensors, one that acts as the main camera and the other secondary that uses a wide-angle lens. The main sensor has a resolution of 32 megapixels, while the secondary has an aperture angle of 105º. Presumably it has 8 megapixels, although the information has not been provided by OnePlus.
