Meizu is a Chinese manufacturer that usually advertises very powerful mobiles at really low prices. The Meizu 16 family is a sample of this, and the catalog of smartphones of this company has been renewed. The Meizu 16T is here, a very powerful mobile, with high-end features and a price that, in exchange, does not exceed 300 euros in the base version. However, you will find it difficult to buy it.
This terminal has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, a high-end chip with eight cores . They are accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM, as well as versions of 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. To give you an idea, it is a practically identical configuration to the one we see in the Google Pixel 4. It has an autonomy of 4,800 mah, which is also compatible with fast charging. The screen is 6.5 inches, a standard size in the high range. Of course, it comes with Full HD + resolution and an AMOLED panel.
In the photographic section there are no big surprises. It mounts a triple lens configuration, where the main sensor remains at a resolution of 12 megapixels. It is accompanied by a second 8 megapixel wide-angle camera, as well as a third 5 megapixel sensor for the depth of field that is used in portrait mode photographs.
One of the most interesting features of this device is that it does not have a notch on the screen. Neither with a sliding camera system, as the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has for example. This mobile has a thin bezel on the top where the lens for selfies, a speaker for calls and the respective sensors are housed. Although it does not use an advanced facial recognition system, such as Face ID, it includes a fingerprint reader integrated under the screen.
The design of the Meizu 16T is very striking for a mobile of just over 200 euros.
Price and availability
The device has been announced in China. It comes with different versions of storage and RAM and a very attractive price, this is what each version costs.
- 6 GB + 128 GB: 1,999 yuan, 250 euros to change.
- 8 GB + 128 GB: 2,299 yuan, 290 euros to change.
- 8 GB + 256 GB: 2,499 yuan, 320 euros at the change.
Meizu is a brand that is not very present in Spain, although we can acquire the odd terminal through different online stores and distributors. The manufacturer sold some smartphones officially, but currently only has a technical support presence. If we want to acquire this 16T, the only way to do it is through unofficial distributors. That is, imported online product stores, such as Gearbest or Aliexpress. This makes your warranty much more limited than a device purchased in Spain. We could also have problems with the software as they use different services in China.
And if you are interested in buying this terminal for its price, you should know that these websites considerably increase the cost of the device, so you will hardly see the version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for about 250 euros.
