POCO, the Xiaomi brand, has launched a new mid-range model, the POCO M2 Pro. This terminal has been announced as a cheaper alternative to the PocoPhone F2 Pro. Its processor is mid-range, the photographic section is different and the screen also changes. It is a very interesting alternative, and it turns out that we can already buy it in Spain, but under another name. All the details.
The POCO M2 Pro is practically identical to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. This latest model has been on the market for a while and can be purchased in different stores for about 250 euros. Both versions have the same design and the main characteristics: the screen size is the same, it has the same camera and also the same processor. It is not the first time that Xiaomi has changed the name of an already announced device. The company renames the terminals depending on the market. In this way, they can release the POCO M2 Pro in markets where the Redmi Note range is not available.
The look is the same: two-tone glass back with a square-shaped camera in the center, as well as a wide screen, with no minimal frames and a perforated camera. The fingerprint reader is on the side and also works as a power button.

Let's focus on what comes with the POCO M2 Pro. One of the main features is in the photographic section. The company has opted for a quad main camera with a mid-range configuration . The main sensor is 64 megapixels, although by default it takes pictures at a resolution of 13 megapixels, since they do not occupy that much size. It is accompanied by a second 8 megapixel wide-angle camera. The other two lenses support the main camera, with a 5 megapixel macro sensor and a 2 megapixel resolution depth of field sensor.
The selfie camera is 16 megapixels, and is located directly on the screen.
Up to 6GB of RAM and 5,020 mAh battery
Another interesting feature we see in the performance section. This POCO M2 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. It is an eight-core processor focused on the mid-range. In this case, with different RAM and storage configurations. The less powerful version has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The medium one, and possibly the most recommended for most users, has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
The third version also has 6 GB of RAM, but with 128 GB of internal storage. All three versions allow expansion via micro SD.
Other interesting details: the screen is IPS, with a size of 6.67 inches and Full HD + resolution. All this moves thanks to a 5,020 mAh battery, with 33W fast charging.
POCO M2 Pro: price and where to buy
As I have commented, the POCO M2 Pro is already sold in Spain in a way: it is a Redmi Note 9 Pro with a different name. All the features are the same. In Spain the most basic version costs 250 euros. This M2 Pro by PocoPhone has been announced in India, and in return the price is much cheaper: so the variants remain.
