LG is willing to do things its own way and the latest example of this is the LG Wing. This terminal of the South Korean firm has two screens, but not as you might be imagining. It is not the first LG terminal with two screens, this concept is a recurring leitmotif in the company, although to date it has been doing it thanks to external accessories such as the cases of the LG V50 and V60 ThinQ. This time they have given it a twist and now the two screens are integrated into the terminal, one being able to rotate and be placed horizontally.

LG Wing, the "T" is not for Troy
The most striking thing about the LG Wing is its design, we are not going to fool you, the mobile phone sector can be boring. The arrival of folding was a breath of fresh air, but now that we have the descendants of those first generations among us, the surprise effect has disappeared. The LG Wing, on the other hand, is something totally new, strange and striking. We do not think it is a revolution or a paradigm shift, it is a sign that mobile technology can still blow us away.
The front of the LG Wing houses a good size screen, they are 6.8 inches, it is surrounded by reduced frames in all directions. In addition, the sides of the screen have a certain curvature to favor the infinite screen effect. Regarding the panel technology, LG has decided to mount a P-OLED screen with a 20.5: 9 format and the resolution remains at Full HD + or 2,460 x 1,080 pixels. The number of pixels per inch in relation to the screen and resolution remains at 395 dpi. This screen is the one that has the ability to rotate and, in doing so, reveals a second screen.
The secondary screen has a smaller size, 3.9 inches, the resolution remains at 1,240 x 1,080 pixels. The format is almost square, 1.15: 1, the technology of this panel is G-OLED. It is an auxiliary screen, the protagonism is the one with the largest size and resolution. Everything revolves around the main screen, although the advantage of having two is that multitasking is better implemented. LG has given different examples when using this terminal, among them we highlight being able to watch a series, movie or video on YouTube while answering messages without them interrupting playback. The possibilities will depend on the number of applications compatible with the LG Wing's dual screen.
Snapdragon 765 and up to 2TB of storage in the LG Wing
Although by design the LG Wing may seem like a high-end terminal, in reality it is not. Inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765, for RAM there is only one option and it is 8GB, in the storage we have more to choose from: 256GB or 512GB, both models expandable up to 2TB via microSD. The autonomy is marked by a 4,000 mAh battery, it is compatible with Quick Charge 4.0+ fast charging and supports wireless charging. We will have to see how those 4,000 mAh behave when feeding two screens. Connectivity is as expected: NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, USB C 3.1 1st Gen, WiFi 802, GPS, 3G, 4G LTE and 5G. The version of Android with which it will be released is Android 10 under the LG UX customization layer.
The cameras on the LG Wing
The rotating screen of the LG Wing is not the only mobile mechanism of this terminal. LG has decided to go for a pop-up or retractable camera for selfies. This has a 32 megapixel sensor with focal length f / 1.9 and 79.6 degrees of amplitude. At the back of the terminal what we will find are three cameras, the main one mounts a 64 megapixel sensor with a focal length f / 1.8, 78 degrees of amplitude and optical stabilization. The secondary camera is a 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor with an f / 1.9 focal length and 117 degrees of amplitude. In addition, this is the camera that uses the gimbal mode, a functionality that according to LG promises stable videos even holding the mobile with one hand. The third and last camera is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f / 2.2 focal length and 120 degrees of amplitude. There is a clear absence, there is no sensor dedicated to the zoom and this is something that we do see in the competition.
LG Wing price and availability
The LG Wing is a rare bird that currently only lives in South Korea. Although LG has confirmed that it will reach the European and North American market, but they have not given a date for it or prices. What we do know are the colors with which it will be released: Aurora Gray and Illusion Sky, both with a matte finish.
