The presentation of the latest flagship - or " premium complement ", as its managers prefer to call it - from the Japanese company Sony has been somewhat peculiar. We first met the Sony Xperia Z4, but shortly after its presentation we learned that we were talking about a mobile aimed only at the Asian market; We have now seen the Sony Xperia Z3 Plus, but we still do not have first-hand information about its availability. Fortunately, it seems that this confusion will not last long, and in a statement made by Sony itself we have learned that the next Sony flagship will not come under the name of "Xperia Z4".
If we interpret these words keeping in mind Sony's journey in recent years - as far as mobile phones are concerned - the easiest thing is to intuit that, therefore, Sony's new flagship will be called Sony Xperia Z5. And in this case we would be talking about a flagship, oriented to all markets and renewed with features that rise to the bar that Sony's competitors in the mobile telephony sector are setting. When and how will this flagship remains to be seen, although we have targeted a date on the calendar: September, coinciding with the IFA 2015 held in the city of Berlin (Germany).
Before going into speculation about the possible features of the Sony Xperia Z5, it is also interesting that we highlight other aspects of Sony's statements that have been echoed on XperiaBlog.net . For example, why launch a Sony Xperia Z4 so quickly, also dedicating its availability exclusively to Japan ? " In Japan, consumers demand the latest flagships with the latest features as quickly as possible, " they comment, adding " to reach those consumers who would like to have access to the latest features and enhancements ."
Clarified this matter, now we have to talk about the Sony Xperia Z5 -or rather, what we expect from this new mobile-. Taking into account the commotion that has been generated with the introduction of the Xperia Z4 / Z3 + we cannot talk about specific characteristics, but we can remember that many rumors agree that the Sony Xperia Z5 could bring with it a completely renewed design in the Xperia Z range. There is even talk of a design that could have some touches of the old mobiles of this same brand (see the Sony Xperia S or the Sony Xperia SL, which were characterized by incorporating a small transparent bar at the bottom of their design).
But it's still too early to get into technical spec battles. The idea that we have to stay with is the following: everything indicates that this year there will be a new Sony flagship, its launch will probably take place under the name of Sony Xperia Z5 and its availability will be global. For everything else, IFA 2015 in September.
