A few days ago the possibility that Huawei's next flagship was dubbed Huawei P20 instead of Huawei P11 was leaked. In the last hours this last name has been re-weighed based on the number of registered trademarks that already exist. While both names were filed with trademark regulators starting in 2015, continuing through 2016 and into last year, Huawei P11 appears in the records more often than Huawei P20.
Test pages discovered on Huawei's website show that the company uses the names P11 and P12. A report reveals that the Huawei P20 name has only been seen in the United States, while markets where the P11 nickname has been found include the European Union, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Therefore, everything suggests that the Asian firm would continue with the same nomenclature and would not make that leap that surprised so much at the time. However, we are always talking about hypotheses and not official data. Obviously, we will have to wait for the day of the presentation to find out.
This could be Huawei's next flagship mobile
As the rumors suggest, the Huawei P11, P11 Plus and P11 Pro would have a triple camera setup on the back that would allow them to capture photos with a 40 megapixel sensor. In addition, on the front there would be space for a sensor with a resolution of nothing more and nothing less than 24 megapixels. Also, the bezels of the P11 Pro would be the smallest of the three and could have a "notch" or island on its screen, similar to that of Apple's iPhone X. For its part, the standard Huawei P11 could offer a panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,244 (FHD +) thanks to an aspect ratio of 18.7: 9. The P11 Plus and P11 Pro would have a screen with a QHD + resolution of 1440 x 2992. It is also said that the fingerprint reader would be below the screen. There could also be a face unlock feature very similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 or iPhone X.
For the rest, the Huawei P11 and P11 Plus would arrive powered by a Kirin 970 processor, with an NPU included. The P11 Pro, for its part, would include a Kirin 975 chipset, so it would be more powerful than its range brothers. There would, in turn, be an SDK for the NPU on both chips, allowing third-party developers to use the processor to enhance their applications. All three phones would feature 6GB of RAM, according to the latest leaks, and would be placed on the market with 64GB of storage.
In terms of screen sizes, everything indicates that the Huawei P11 would grow slightly. From 5.1 inches it would go up to 5.5 inches. The Huawei P11 Plus could reach 6 inches, and the P11 Pro could do it even more.
Possible filing date
We may not know the new Huawei P11s during the celebration of the next Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The fair will take place this year from February 26 to March 1. According to the latest data, the devices would be unveiled at an exclusive event weeks later.Specifically, it is said that they could be announced by the company during the month of April. The fact that they are not finally showing at MWC could be due to delays with the triple camera and processors. But Huawei would not be the only company that would not show its star mobile during the mobility fair. Apparently LG would not present its next flagship in this scenario either. This means that all eyes would be on the new Samsung Galaxy S9, a device that could have its debut at the gates of the event.
