Just one month after its worldwide launch, the Nokia X has just received its first operating system update. The Finnish company Nokia has surprised all the owners of this terminal with an update about which, in principle, we did not know anything. From what users who have already installed this update have commented, the main novelties focus on small visual changes in the terminal interface.
The update file occupies a space of only 16 MegaBytes, so it can be downloaded with confidence from both 3G connectivity and wireless WiFi connectivity. After installing the update, the first thing users will find is that they have the ability to change the color of the tiles that appear in the background along with each application. The idea of this update is to avoid that, for example, an application with a blue icon is practically invisible because of a tile of the same color.
To change the color of the tile, the user simply has to keep their finger pressed on a tile until a small icon with different colors appears inside. The available colors are: dark blue, pink, purple, orange, green and light blue. In principle, this option to change the color of the tiles is only available for third-party applications (ie non- Nokia applications).
In principle, the update notification should appear directly on the phone screen without the user having to do anything. In the event that a Nokia X owner has not received an update, it is recommended that they follow these steps to update their phone manually:
- You should first enter the " Settings " section.
- Once inside, you should look for an option that has the name " About phone ".
- And finally, you must click on the option "System updates ". Within this section you can check if a new update is available and, if there is one, the phone will indicate the steps to follow to download it and then install it. If following this method the phone informs us that there is no update available for download, most likely we will have to wait a few days until we receive the update in our terminal.
For those who have not been aware of the presentation of this terminal, it should be noted that the Nokia X is a smartphone that stands out for two main reasons: the first is that it costs only 90 euros, and the second is that it allows you to install applications from the Android operating system. And, despite the fact that we are talking about a mobile that incorporates an operating system as standard with an identical appearance to Windows Phone, users have the possibility of installing applications that have been developed for Google's operating system.
