After the purchase by Microsoft, the Finnish company Nokia still has several months of waiting to be able to re-launch a smartphone under its own brand. To be more specific, Nokia cannot launch a smartphone until 2016. But as a new benchmark reveals, Nokia appears to have started work on its next mobile. This terminal will respond to the name of Nokia 1100, and the test it has undergone has revealed some of its technical specifications.
The performance test that this mysterious Nokia 1100 from Nokia has passed corresponds to the Geekbench application. In it, the Nokia 1100 reaches 347 points in the single-core test and 664 points in the multi-core test. This smartphone appears to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek (model MT6582) processor (Cortex-A7) running at 1.3 GHz which, among other things, supports screen resolutions of 1,280 x 720 pixels and with the video recording with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
But, in this case, we are not talking about a smartphone powered by the Windows Phone operating system. The performance test reveals that the Nokia 1100 works under the Android operating system, as well as one of its most recent versions: Android 5.0 Lollipop. Therefore, at first, everything seems to indicate that Nokia's return to the mobile telephony market will occur under the protection of the mobile operating system of the US company Google.
On the other hand, a few months ago we also learned of the existence of another Nokia smartphone that seemed to be ready to hit the market with the Android operating system. We refer to the Nokia C1, a smartphone that was advertised in the leaks as a dual-mobile that would be available with both Windows Phone and Android. For version Android, filtered technical specifications mentioned screen five inches with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution, a processor Intel of four cores with 2.8 GHzclocked, 3 gigabytes of RAM, up to 128 gigabytes of internal memory, a main chamber 20.1 megapixels and a battery with 3100 mAh capacity.
The launch of the Nokia C1 has not yet become a reality -at least for now-, although we have been able to attend the launch of the Nokia N1, a tablet that gives us some clues regarding the intentions that Nokia has with the Android operating system.
In any case, before 2016 talking about smartphone launches by Nokia is too risky. At the very least, and assuming that there is no contract renewal by Microsoft, we will have to wait yet a year to officially know the news that this company has in hand for the smartphone sector.
