Just over two weeks after the Motorola Moto G7 hit the market, the company is putting all its efforts to update the Motorola Moto G6 to the latest version of Android. Weeks ago we saw how the Moto G6 was updated to Android 9 Pie in some countries such as Brazil and Mexico. Also the Moto G6 Plus was updated at the beginning of January. The update to Android 9 Pie of the Motorola Moto G6 Play could arrive in Spain in the coming weeks
It has been confirmed by various users a few minutes ago on XDA: the Moto G6 Play update is already being launched in Brazil. As usual, it is a test version that is the prelude to what will be the final version.
As we can see in the screenshots, the update is about version 9.0 with the January security patch. The update in question is an advanced test version; This can be seen in the Changes section of the update. This makes us think that the stable version is on its way out. In this regard, it should not take more than a month or two, although everything will depend on the country, region and version of the device.
Either way, it is expected that Motorola will soon launch a public beta to download the update on any phone. We already saw it with the original Moto G6 and it would not be ruled out if the case with the Moto G6 Play would be.
