The Motorola Moto G4 has been one of the most famous terminals of the company owned by Lenovo (in this link you can find its analysis). Part of its success comes from its longevity when it comes to Android updates. And is that despite being a mobile that is almost three years old today, the terminal has Android Nougat in version 7.0. Now the terminal is updated to what is possibly the latest version released by the manufacturer. We refer to Android Oreo 8.1, the latest Oreo compilation released by Google during 2018.
Android Oreo 8.1 for the Motorola Moto G4 will arrive in Spain soon
It has been several users of the XDA Developers forum who have confirmed the arrival of Android Oreo 8.1 for the Motorola Moto G4. The update in question, as usual, has been launched in Brazil, and its arrival in Spain and the rest of the countries of Europe and Latin America is expected shortly.
As for the improvements included in the update, all the news of Android Oreo 8.1 are included. Some of the most important are the following:
- Improved system stability
- Project Treble support added
- Adaptive icons
- PiP mode to put the videos of the compatible applications in floating window
- The navigation bar is now white
- Notifications change their color depending on the application that launches them
- Redesign of the status bar icons (battery, coverage, WiFi…)
- New dark theme
- Search bar included in the Settings application
- Redesign of Emojis and emoticons
- Interaction gestures added
- Navigation buttons are grayed out depending on the application
- The battery status of the Bluetooth devices that we have connected is shown
- Redesigned native launcher and very similar to the Google Pixel
- Added transparency to notification bar quick settings
- Smart text selector
Otherwise, Motorola has updated Google's security patch to December 1, 2018. Also, some Motorola proprietary system applications have been updated to the latest version.
When can we update to the latest version? There is still no official date, however, it is expected that it will reach the rest of the countries in a phased manner during the next three or four weeks. From Tuexperto we recommend checking the software updates in the respective section of the Android Settings application. Once it reaches us via OTA, the updater will notify us that a new update is available for download.
