The trend of Google is that all its native applications have native dark mode sooner rather than later. In this way, in addition to gaining autonomy, since dark colors use less energy to be visible than dark colors, the user will gain eye health, by reducing aggressive white lights throughout the day. Now, the dark mode of Google Chrome has reached Android through its new version number 74. If you want to know which version you have, open the Google Play Store, search for 'Google Chrome' and click on 'More information'. If you already have version 74 of Google Chrome, follow these steps to activate dark mode and enjoy it now on your own mobile device.
Do you win in dark mode in Google Chrome? Activate it now on Android!
The first thing we have to do is open the Google Chrome application and, in the search bar, we put the following 'chrome: // flags /' but without quotes. Or, simply, click on the link that we have put directly.
Next, we proceed to place in the search bar of this screen ' Android Chrome UI Dark Mode '. Be careful with this screen because here we can change many functions of Google Chrome and, if we do not know what we are touching, we can make the application unusable.
In the option that appears later, we must display the small arrow that accompanies it and activate 'enabled'. In this way, we will be making the dark mode option appear in the Chrome menu. We restart the application, closing it in the multitasking window, and reopen it or by clicking on 'Relaunch Now'.
Now, we go to the three-point menu that we find in the upper right part of the screen. In the 'Settings' section we will now find the ' Dark Mode ' option. We go in and activate it on the switch. At that very moment we can already enjoy the dark mode in the Google Chrome browser.
If you don't have version 74 of Chrome yet, don't despair. In the next few days, go back to the Google Play store and you will already have it available. Come back here to follow the tutorial and voila.
