Currently, almost all the high-end ranges that reach the mark have a night mode, a function that allows several shots to be carried out in the same shot in order to capture as much light as possible. Although the Samsung Galaxy S9 is not an outdated phone, in fact it was the company's flagship last year, it came without this feature. This has been resolved thanks to the latest security update in June.
All those who have an S9 and receive the update, you can start using the night mode, which is said to work just as well as the Galaxy S10. From SamMobile they have been able to test it, and have shown some examples that show how this function works. In the following image you can see a night photo captured with the Samsung Galaxy S9 without night mode and another with night mode activated once the security update has been performed. As you can see, the difference is obvious. The details are better appreciated, there is greater clarity in the scene, both in the sky and in the buildings of the place.
Another of the images that SamMobile has published shows the difference using the night mode on a Samsung Galaxy S9 or an S10 +. As we said before, there are no significant differences when using the function in the company's flagship phone last year or doing it in the vitaminized model of this 2019. Despite the fact that one has just included it thanks to a security update and the other has it as standard, the results are practically the same. Perhaps more vivid tones are appreciated using the night mode on the Samsung Galaxy S10 +. In any case, we must not forget that this model comes with a better photographic section than last year's terminal, something that must also be taken into account.
In addition to night mode, the new update also adds the option to adjust the background blur level in Live Focus mode using the front camera. At the moment, this security update has begun to be deployed in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, but it is a matter of time before it does the same in the rest of the countries where the device is available. You already know that the moment you receive it, you will normally see a pop-up message on the screen of your S9. If not, you can check it yourself from the settings, updates section.
