China, in colloquial terms, is a cake for any manufacturer belonging to the mobile phone market. A middle class that has more and more possibilities to access pocket technology, ideal conditions to manufacture products at low cost, few or even no restrictions on patents… in short, ideal conditions for the end of 2014 to have sent more than 450 million units of smartphones, as outlined in ABC.es. But, although Xiaomi is the absolute leader when it comes to the Chinese mobile market, two companies are beginning to threaten the leadership of this Asian manufacturer.
We are talking about Oppo and Vivo, two companies of Asian origin that, despite not having the global impact of Xiaomi, are managing to climb positions in the Chinese mobile market. Such is the case, that Oppo and Vivo already add the same market share in China as Xiaomi (15%) between the two, and everything indicates that they will continue to grow exponentially in the coming months. Specifically, the reports estimate that Vivo has grown in the second quarter of the year to 8% market share in China, which is double the share (4%) that this company had at the same time last year.
In fact, Vivo is currently hovering around a market share close to 8.1%. What's more, a detailed report of the Chinese mobile market recently published by Counterpoint indicates that Vivo has been the Chinese company that has grown the most in the last year, reaching a growth of 250%. For us to understand all these figures, it is enough for us to mention that the three most popular mobile companies in the Chinese market (Xiaomi, Huawei and Apple) have achieved market presence percentages of 15.8, 15.4 in this last quarter. and 12.2%, respectively.
On the part of Vivo, one of its latest releases resides in the Vivo Y33. This smartphone has been presented
with (a relatively affordable price 175 euros to the current change), and its features include a display of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, a processor MediaTek of four cores (model MT6735), 1 gigabyte of RAM, 8 gigabytes of internal storage, a main camera of eight megapixels, Android 5.0 Lollipop and a battery of 2,200 mAh. Beyond the design, it doesn't seem like the Vivo Y33 has much to do against theNewly presented mid-range phones from 2015 or even against the three alternatives to the Moto G (2015) for less than 200 euros. In short, the Chinese market is on fire. And it is not for less, taking into account that there are still to be presented -at least- three Chinese mobiles that can still sweep in 2015 and that, at the same time, would join the five most successful mobiles in the market Chinese.
