The Meizu Pro 5 will finally not be available this month, and not precisely because of a decision by the Chinese company Meizu. The factory where Meizu's new Pro 5 was being manufactured has suffered floods after a typhoon hit, and the Asian company has been forced to announce delays in the distribution of its new flagship. The Meizu Pro 5 could take up to one more month to be ready for distribution, which would practically postpone until November the planned release date that until now pointed to October 12.
The Meizu factory is located in the province of Guangdong (Canton), in China, which turns out to be precisely the place where Typhoon Mujigae passed a few days ago. The typhoon has left behind many affected people, and in addition to the human losses, it has also left a trail of destruction in the buildings in southern Asia. In an entry published on the Asian website Mobile-Dad.com, a company official is quoted as stating that both the warehouse and the factory where the first units of the Meizu Pro 5 were found have been completely flooded, which has forced the company to delay " up to a month " the launch of its flagship.
Regarding the Meizu MX5, a mobile that was presented in July this year, there is no mention, so we assume that its availability has not been affected.
The Meizu Pro 5, let's remember, is currently Meizu's highest-end flagship. We are talking about a mobile that is headed by a screen of 5.7 inches with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution, internally incorporating a processor Exynos 7420 of eight cores, 3 / 4 gigabytes of RAM, 32 / to 64 gigabytes of internal memory (expandable microSD up to 128 gigabytes), a main chamber 21 megapixels, Android 5.1 Lollipopand a 3,050 mAh battery, plus a fingerprint reader and a metal casing.
Initially, it was planned that the Pro 5 of Meizu was released to the market in the coming days with a starting price of 430 euros for the version of 3 gigabytes of RAM + 32 gigabytes and 480 euros for the version of 4 gigabytes of RAM + 64 GigaBytes of internal memory. Now, after this unexpected problem, we imagine that the first units will not be on sale until mid-November, and we assume that the starting prices will remain as planned.
In case we were impatient to buy this mobile, we can always take a look at the five Chinese alternatives to the Meizu Pro 5 for less than 450 euros.
