The Chinese company Meizu seems to be determined to go ahead with the scheduled launch from the get-go for the Meizu Pro 5, at least in part. Meizu has denied rumors of a delay of up to a month the launch of its flagship, and has clarified that the Meizu Pro 5 itself will be delayed at launch, though it will only six days. Far from a typhoon, it seems that the reason for this delay would lie in a problem with the mobile's NFC system, as the company itself has assured.
In this way, instead of starting to be distributed on October 12, the Meizu Pro 5 will finally not start shipping to users until October 18. In any case, the NFC problem will not come cheap for Meizu, since the company has announced compensation for users who already had a mobile phone reserved, as we can read on PhoneArena.com. All users who have purchased the Pro 5 will receive free accident insurance valued at $ 31 (we do not have more details on this), and in addition, users who have purchased the 32 GigaByte version will receive headphones valued at $ 20, while users who have chosen the 64 GigaByte version will receive, in addition to the headphones, a coupon of $ 20 to spend in the Fylme store.
In short, the six-day delay in launching the Pro 5 will cost Meizu more than $ 1.5 million. Regarding prices, let's remember that the Meizu Pro 5 has reached the market with starting prices that are around 430 euros in the 32 GigaBytes version and 480 euros in the 64 GigaBytes version.
As far as its technical specifications are concerned, the Meizu Pro 5 is currently one of the highest-end flagships of Chinese origin that we can find on the market. The Pro 5 incorporates a screen of 5.7 inches with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution, and feeds a processor Exynos 7420 of eight cores which, together with a graphics processor Mali-T760MP8 achieves a clock speed of up to 2.1 GHz. All these characteristics are supplemented by 3 / 4 gigabytes of RAM, 32 / to 64 gigabytesstorage, a main chamber 21 megapixels, version Android 5.1 Lollipop of the operating system Android (with the layer Flyme 5.0) and a battery rated capacity in 3050 mAh.
And, if for some reason these characteristics do not convince us, we should know that we have at our disposal no less than five Chinese alternatives to the Meizu Pro 5 for less than 450 euros. And, with a little patience, we can also wait for ZTE to present its new flagship, the ZTE Nubia X8, or for Xiaomi to do the same with the Xiaomi Mi 5.
