The Samsung Galaxy Fold that will go on sale tomorrow in South Korea is practically the same that we saw in February, although with some changes designed to improve the durability of the panel, thus avoiding the entry of dirt, the main cause of the problems that the test units suffered. The most important change is the protective layer, which some users removed thinking it was a throw-away protector. This protective layer now goes beyond the edges.
Another addition has been the covers to protect the hinges. In short, with these changes the company hopes that its new folding mobile will achieve the acceptance and success that they expected last February, the month of its official presentation. Regarding its technical characteristics, these are the same ones that we already knew at the time. The Samsung Galaxy Fold stands out for its double screen, designed to use one or the other depending on our needs. The one we see on the cover is a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED panel with HD + resolution. The main one has a size of 7.3 inches with QXGA resolution, 4.2: 3 format and uses Dynamic AMOLED technology.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold also has a Snapdragon 855 processor, accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The terminal equips a 4,380 mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging, as well as an Android 9 system under the Samsung One UI customization layer. As we explained at the beginning of the article, the new Samsung folding mobile can be purchased in Spain in mid-October. It is expected to be priced at 2,000 euros. The 5G version could go up to 2,100 euros.
