LG has started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the LG Q6. It has initially done so in South Korea, its native country, although an international expansion is planned in the coming days. This means that if you have this model it is only a matter of time before you receive the notification to download the new version of the system. In addition to the pertinent news of Android 8.1, the new update comes with improvements in sound and in the camera.
Normally, the moment you receive the update you will see a pop-up message on the screen of your LG Q6 advising you of its availability. Since the rollout has already started this is something that could happen in a few weeks. If not, you already know that you can check it yourself from Settings> System> About device> Software update.
What's new in Android 8.1 for the LG Q6
One of the great novelties that come to the LG Q6 with this new update is DTS: X Sound. It is software that significantly improves the sound quality of the terminal, as it provides 3D stereo audio. To give you an idea, it is the same software that accompanies the LG G7 ThinQ, the current flagship of the company. Also, another improvement is related to the camera's LED. On the one hand, we will have the possibility that the flash turns on depending on the type of music we are listening to. On the other hand, we will see the flash blink when we receive a call. This is an improvement that can be very well received by users with some type of hearing problem.
Otherwise, the LG Q6 will be able to enjoy all the features available in Android 8.1. In addition to the usual performance, battery and fluidity improvements, the device will feature a light dark theme for settings. We will see it in white or black, depending on whether the wallpaper we have configured is dark or light. Likewise, all users who wish can use the Picture in picture mode, available from Android 8.0. This allows you to reduce an application to a corner of the screen to continue using the mobile. In this way, we can do several things at the same time in the same panel.
As we say, the deployment of Android 8.1 for the LG Q6 has started in South Korea. Stay tuned because the most normal thing is that you also receive the update in a few days or weeks.
