The LG G3 has begun to receive today a new operating system update from the South Korean company LG. The file that the owners of the LG G3 are receiving occupies an approximate space of 174 MegaBytes, and although at the moment there is no official list of changes, users who have already been able to install the update claim to notice an improvement in the fluidity of the interface and greater autonomy on drums. The update has started to be distributed in Europe and in some Asian countries, so all owners of this smartphone should start receiving it in the next few hours.
This new update seems to respond to the name of V10l-IND-XX, and users have begun to receive it on their LG G3 both via OTA (that is, through the phone itself) and via computer (that is, through the program LG Mobile Support Tool). The main novelties of this update seem to focus on the interface, which now works much more fluidly, and on the battery, which offers a slightly higher autonomy after the update.
Anyone who wants to download this update only has to wait to receive the corresponding notification on their phone, although there is also the possibility of checking the availability of this new file manually by following these simple steps: we enter the Settings application, we enter the section " About the device " and click on the option " Update operating system ". Since the update takes up a considerable space (174 MegaBytes), it is best to download it using only WiFi connectivity. And let's not forget to backup our data before downloading the update.
Of course, this update does not incorporate any new version of the Android operating system, so LG G3 owners will have to settle for the Android 4.4.2 KitKat version until further notice. In fact, all the updates this smartphone has received have only brought with them improvements and bug fixes (see for example the update of V10E-IND-XX). Recall that, today, many of the high-end smartphones already work under Android 4.4.4 KitKat, which basically corresponds to a more secure and slightly corrected version of Android 4.4.2. We do not know if LG will update theLG G3 to this version before the end of the year or if instead it will decide to wait until next year 2015 to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
The LG G3 is a smartphone that was officially presented during the month of May of this year. Among its most important technical specifications we find a display of 5.5 inches with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution, a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 of four cores running at 2.5 GHz, two gigabytes of memory RAM, 16 gigabytes of expandable internal memory using a card microSD, a main camera of 13 megapixels and a battery of 3000 mAh. Also, shortly after its launch we had the opportunity to do a thorough test of the LG G3.
