- Goodbye to the controversy of the fingerprint sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S8
- What we expect from the Samsung Galaxy S9
The leaks of the new and expected Samsung Galaxy S9 do not stop happening day after day. On this occasion, it is about new images that show the design, both in front and behind, of the younger brother of the saga. Thanks to the leak expert Steve H. (@onleaks) we can enjoy high-quality photographs in which we can appreciate the Samsung Galaxy S9 model. They are not real photographs but images generated from all the rumors that have been leaking about this new device from the Korean brand.
Goodbye to the controversy of the fingerprint sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S8
In order to have an infinite screen, the fingerprint sensor must be either integrated under the panel, or located at the back of the device. As the first option is still in the air, waiting for technology to allow it, Samsung chooses to move the fingerprint sensor to the back of its equipment. But here the controversy jumps: in the current Samsung Galaxy S8 decides to place it next to the camera sensor. A somewhat uncomfortable place, as the user ends up touching the camera lens more times than the fingerprint sensor itself. The same site, by the way, where it is located on the Samsung Galaxy S8 + and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 terminals.
Thus, in this new Samsung Galaxy S9, the Korean company has decided to place the fingerprint sensor under the rear camera lens, which will not be dual, according to the images. Thus, it will be much more focused and accessible to the user. For the rest, and with regard to design, we are going to find a model practically traced to the Samsung Galaxy S8, with a screen with an 18: 9 ratio and that covers almost the entire front panel.
What we expect from the Samsung Galaxy S9
Regarding the rest of the specifications that are considered in this new Samsung Galaxy S9, we find:
A screen traced to the previous Samsung Galaxy S8, with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. It will continue to be made of glass and aluminum and, with total security, we will see it in deep black, as the images show. It is not certain, although there is a minimal possibility, that the panel will have a 4K resolution, as we already see in other terminals such as the Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
Regarding the processor, a logical evolution of the current eight-core Exynos 8895 is expected. The RAM memory would remain 4 GB while we would already see 6 GB in the top model Samsung Galaxy S9 +.
The photographic section would be improved, leaving aside the double sensor that, perhaps, could make an appearance in its older brother, the Samsung Galaxy S9 +. The Samsung Galaxy S9 camera could break records, according to the leaks: it would be the camera sensor with the largest focal aperture seen, to date, in a mobile terminal: 1.5. It would be a larger focal aperture than the one currently held by the record: the 1.6 of the LG V30 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
In addition, there are certain media that ensure that the Samsung Galaxy S9 camera could have a variable focal length that oscillates between the aforementioned 1.5 and 2.4. The user, with the variable focal length, could adjust the amount of light he wanted to enter. It is, in professional cameras, what we call the diaphragm.
The Korean company is expected to present both terminals during the month of February, with their arrival in stores during the month of March. Its price could be higher than that of the Samsung Galaxy S8 when it hit the stores: about 800 euros.
