The iphone will allow you to buy movie tickets with your voice, but only in the united states
As Apple announced, the iPhone and iPad assistant Siri continues to gain in features. This electronic butler, able to manage some of the system functions of the company's mobile devices, will be able to go to the cinema box office and buy the tickets for us. At least, in its virtual facet. And it is that as it has been verified from the work betas of iOS 6.1, the next great update for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, Siri will have a new module with which to manage the purchase of tickets forselect theaters in the United States.
The operation of this new option will come through the Fandango application, which will be coupled with Siri so that the assistant can manage the purchase of tickets simply with voice commands. Let's say, for example, that the user wants to go see Looper. All you have to do is ask your iPhone, so it will give you a list of cinemas in your environment where the film is shown. The owner of the phone could check the projection times and, once he decided on a session, tell Siri to buy the tickets. At this point things would get more specific. To begin with, if the system detects that you do not have the Fandango application installed, would offer the download option to the user.
After this, it would check if the chosen cinema is among those whose electronic purchasing systems are validated by Fandango. If, and only if, all the parameters match, the process will be successful and the user will be able to go to see Looper without having done more paperwork than the order dictated to Siri. Tickets would be validated at the exhibitor showing an electronic document that will be stored in Fandango to prove the purchase "" that would have been made using an electronic payment gateway linked to a credit or debit card.
At the moment, Apple would only have confirmed this service for the United States, and as we say, it would not be accessible to all exhibitors in the North American country. In this sense, there is no data about when its use would spread, not only in the face of other companies dedicated to the projection of films, but also to other regions of the globe. In Spain, the cinema ticket sales service is supported by various services, such as tickets.com, servicaixa or ticketmaster, among others, so it would be necessary to know if in its international approach, the function of buying tickets through Siri would focus on having support from one of these distributors or would be supported by several of them.
There is no information yet on when the iOS 6.1 update that enrolls this feature would arrive. In recent days, version 6.0.1 of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch operating system appeared by surprise . Among other options, the update solves problems that were manifesting themselves in iOS 6, either with the camera flash, the Wi-Fi connection or the wireless installation of applications.
