Huawei is beginning to roll out the EMUI 9.1 update (based on Android 9 Pie) in the Huawei Y6 2019. It is available to download via OTA (over the air) in all countries where the terminal is marketed, so it is a matter of days or weeks that you can install it. This new update, which has a weight of 2.35 GB and runs the EMUI version 9.1.0.240, also comes with the Android security patch for the month of July.
EMUI 9.1 includes many improvements and functionalities, and not only at the performance or security level. One of the most prominent is the new EROFS file system, which improves read and write performance. It also includes Huawei's ARK compiler, which increases overall system performance, as well as GPU Turbo 3.0 to optimize games at game time.
The rollout of this new update is happening gradually. This means that you may not have yet received a pop-up message on your device's panel advising you of its availability. If the days go by and you still don't see it, you can check if it is available from the Settings, System, Software Update, Check for Updates section. Another method to check it is using the HiCare application and clicking on the "Update" button. from there you can check if it is already possible to update.
