DxOMark seems to continue to be the yardstick for photographic quality for many smartphone users and companies. With the presentation of the Huawei P30 Pro and Huawei P30, of which you have our first impressions on the web, the well-known photography company has shown the world the numerical results that this new Huawei terminal has achieved. They are surprising, so much so that the Huawei P30 Pro has been crowned as the new photographic reference terminal in the world of smartphones. At least this is what DxOMark says, we tell you all the details about the result achieved by this new terminal.
Huawei P30 Pro, photographic reference terminal according to DxOMark
Many of you may not be so into the world of mobile technology and DxOMark sounds like a brand of detergent to you. But in reality it is a company that is dedicated to test photography both professional cameras and smartphones. Lately it has gained a lot of relevance thanks to the visibility that certain technological content creators have given it; in fact, their analyzes are highly respected by the community. But it must be taken into account that these tests are "synthetic", they are made under laboratory conditions and do not show the actual use of the terminal in the hands of an ordinary user.
Once the functionality of DxOMark has been explained, let's talk about the Huawei P30 Pro. Its photographic section is composed of three sensors on its back: 40 megapixels wide-angle 27 mm with optical stabilization and focal aperture f / 1.6 being this the main one and passing to the SuperSensing (they leave the RBG to include RYB), the second 20-megapixel sensor with 16mm ultra-wide angle and focal aperture f / 2.2 and the last sensor with 8-megapixel with telephoto functionality of 125mm periscope with OIS and focal aperture f / 3.4. This is the technical set that the DxOMark have put to the test.
The result has given the Huawei P30 Pro after passing through DxOMark is 112 global points. It is above terminals such as the Xiaomi Mi 9 or the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. These points have been obtained mainly in the zoom section, one of the novelties and strong point of this terminal that has up to 50 magnifications. This allows you to zoom in on objects that are in the distance without losing an iota of detail. But also another factor that has to get attention is the portrait mode or bokeh effect. For this mode of photography, Huawei has included a proximity sensor called ToF, with which it manages to better capture the background and the subject to achieve a more realistic and almost professional bokeh effect.
In addition to the sections already mentioned, the Huawei P30 Pro has achieved good results in the sections of autofocus, flash and exposure. We can see them in the full analysis on the DxOMark website, where it is detailed in detail and there are samples of how it interprets colors or focus in various situations. In fact, the grade in the photography section, not to be confused with the overall grade, is 119 points. While the note in the video section reaches 97 where stabilization stands out, something logical since it has optical image stabilization in its sensors and also the autofocus, something really important for complicated situations.
Without a doubt, the Huawei P30 Pro is a good terminal in the photographic section, where its optical zoom and its bokeh effect also stand out. But until we have it in our hands we will not be able to give you an opinion formed about the terminal in general as well as its photographic section, as soon as we spend more time with the terminal we will tell you our experience of general use.
